The plaque of “Where’s Taoyuan”

The plaque is hung on the hall of Luokeng Abode, with the inscription reading “Chen Yue of Nanhai” and a seal. All black characters in a yellow background, the characters of “Where’s Taoyuan” are in cursive script, while the smaller inscription “Chen Yue of Nanhai” is in regular script. The calligraphy is based on the cursive-regular script of Liu Gongquan, featuring profound skills, smooth and powerful strokes and lofty elegance. It is truly a masterpiece. “Where’s Taoyuan” provides a compliment for Yuyan Academy and compares it to arcadia, a heaven like tranquil and beautiful place suitable for studying.
