Title-granted General’s Temple

First built in the Ming Dynasty, the Title-granted General’s Temple underwent renovations from time to time. The southwest-facing temple has three main rooms and three yards. It features herringbone-shaped fire-sealing gable wall and keel design. Zhong Yuande, the forefather of 7th generation, was enshrined in the temple. As Yuande was the second oldest child in the family, the temple is also called “Erzong Temple”. His son Ruifu was promoted to Mobile Corps Commander of Jiangning (currently Nanjing) for his military exploits and granted the title of Zhaoyong General (Rank 3 military officer), and his father Zhong Yuande and grandfather Zhong Nai were granted the title of Zhaoyong General. That is why the temple is called the “Title-granted General’s Temple”.
