Jinhua Temple

It is said that Jinhua Niangniang (Golden Flower Goddess) saved the life of Guangzhou governor’s wife from a difficult labor in the 7th year of the Ming Emperor Hongwu’s reign (1374). So after she became an immortal, locals built a temple to worship her, and she was known as “Jinhua Furen for begetting and blessing children”. The lake of attaining immortality is called Xianhu Lake (Immortal Lake), and the temple Jinhua Temple. The 17th day of the 4th lunar month is made the birthday of Jinhua. Zhong clansmen carved a way out of a huge rock on the east of Wenchang Temple and built Jinhua Temple behind the rock.to enshrine Jinhua Niangniang.
