Tianzun Hall

Jiutian Yingyuan Leisheng Puhua Tianzun (the Celestial Worthy of Universal Transformation Whose Sound of Thunder Responds to the Primordials in the Nine Heavens) is enshrined in Tianzun Hall. It began to be worshipped by Ms. Xu, the wife of Zhong Nai, the forefather of the 6th generation of Zhong clan in the Yuan. As Ms. Xu’s parents often worshipped deities, she was given the portrait of Jiutian Yingyuan Leisheng Puhua Tianzun as the dowry when she married Zhong Nai. The portrait was painted by a skilled artist who was proven to be the famous painter Ma Yuan in the Song. There is a couplet written by Zhang Weiping in the Qing inside the hall, saying “True character reveals itself in floating clouds and flowing water, bright moon and gentle breeze come with old friends!”
