Yuqing Lou

Yuqing Lou was built in the 12th year of the Southern Song Emperor Ningzong’s reign (1219). Yuqing Lou has a concave look, and a fish pond sits in the center. It features unique design with a two-storey pavilion surrounded on three sides by the veranda-style structure and connection with Yuyan Hall on a fourth side. Above the plaque of “Yuyan Academy”, a plaque saying “Yuqing” written by the prince of Hengyang in the Ming Dynasty was hung on the second floor of Yuqing Lou. In addition, there is another plaque of “Yuqing” inside, which was written by Jin Qi, Duoluo prince of the second rank in the Qing.
